Unlock your body’s potential
At Crediton and Exeter Osteopaths
we aim to support you and your health by relieving your pain and encouraging movement.
At Crediton & Exeter Osteopaths, we support you and your health.
We have been providing quality holistic osteopathic care for patients from Crediton and Exeter for forty years, supporting the health of our local community.
We also have patients who travel to see us from across Devon and neighbouring counties. We even have some regulars who make sure they come for treatment when visiting from as far away as London, France, Australia, and New Zealand!
Our osteopaths are all experienced, qualified and statutorily registered.

Totally, thoroughly recommend Chris. Have been to him over a number of years.

Our APPROACH
You will find us caring and compassionate and we make time to listen to you and your needs. We can help you to understand what is going wrong and what is causing your problems. We can offer advice, support and reassurance or direct you elsewhere if that is what you need.
We use our hands on skills to treat your problem and use our wealth of knowledge to advise on exercises and to support you on your journey back to health. We aim to relieve your pain, get you moving, get you back to doing the things you want to do, and feeling yourself again.
I am an active 74 year old and Chris has been looking after me for over 15 years. He is very knowledgeable, supportive and his treatments have been consistently effective. I can’t recommend him highly enough.
- IC
I have been using the services of the osteopaths - firstly Chris Bury and then his colleague Louis Bartlett for very many years! I have always found them both excellent in what they do and charming & very courteous to deal with!!! Extremely highly recommend them, without any reservations!!!
- PP
Whether it's something more serious like whiplash, or dealing with the stress of daily life or the effects of major events like death within the family, I benefitted greatly from the work Chris does.

Crediton & Exeter Osteopaths Team
Who you’ll see around the clinic

Chris Bury, Registered Osteopath
I established Crediton & Exeter Osteopaths in 1987 and in 1994 I set up the Crediton Complementary Health Centre.
My approach to patients and the clinical encounter is to create a relaxed, informal, welcoming environment where people feel respected, listened to and cared for and their bodies feel safe and supported to find health and a route away from pain. I derive great satisfaction from seeing patients, from newborn babies to children and on through life, experience sometimes dramatic improvement in their health and wellbeing, often when medicine and other approaches have disappointed.
Outside work, I am a keen tennis player, still playing regularly in Devon and Exeter leagues. I enjoy live music, nature, walking on the moor and coast and I love to draw and paint.

Louis Bartlett, Registered Osteopath
As a family practitioner, I care for patients of all ages with problems from ricked necks and frozen shoulders to plantar fasciitis. Supporting parents and their newborns is a particular joy for me, as is care for the elderly.
I am also a qualified Nordic Walking Instructor and when appropriate encourage my patients to use this activity to assist in their preparation for and recovery from surgery.
Outside of the clinic I enjoy the peaceful open space of a rural life with my wife as well as spending much time committed to the local Buddhist community in Exeter.

Jamie Rose, Registered Osteopath
As an Osteopath, I draw on a variety of gentle but effective techniques to suit the individual. I also use dry needling and am training in Zero Balancing, a modality that truly represents the essence of Classical Osteopathy.
I have had a lifelong interest in holistic health and trained in reflexology, massage and aromatherapy before qualifying as an osteopath.
Having worked with Chris and Louis before, I am excited to be working with them again at the Exeter practice.
I live in Exmouth with my exuberant Collie/Hunterway cross, Alfie.

Carol Hewings, Practice Manager, Crediton
I have been working for Crediton Osteopaths since 2006. My official title is Practice Manager but I prefer the title ‘Caretaker’ as it describes what I do; I take care of the osteopaths’, other practitioners’ and patients’ needs by managing the admin tasks, patient enquiries and also cleaning, tidying and gardening. I love our practice and take pride in keeping it running smoothly and looking good!
